Apple Clock

Upon dismantling my first generation G4 PowerMac, I salvaged a side panel and managed to make a stylish clock out of it. I had seen a pic of someone else doing this a while back and thought I’d like to give it a shot. It took some planning and a bit of hardware (and cursing), but it all worked out in the end. Now I can say that after all of these years of collecting dust in the corner, I’ve finally found a use for my ol’ friend. Cheers, mate!

After 11 years of faithful friendship (7 which were spent in a dusty corner of the apartment), I’m finally saying goodbye to my first generation PowerMac G4. It had long been unsuitable for the fast evolving world of tech, but I always kept it lying around thinking I would one day do something with it. Well, I never did. So I’ve gutted it. And even all naked and such it still looks a bit formidable.

I’m not gonna cry…

Following up on my previous post about Firefox’s Web Development add-on, I would just like to express my complete satisfaction with a li’l skippy dance! I’ve been using and abusing this robust toolbar quite a lot lately as I finish up my Grand Redesign of McGrew’s Musings. It has provided quick and easy access to most things Code, dissecting whatever page you’re viewing at the time. This is very handy for amateurs, like myself, to study up on how other designers are doing cool things with their code. And what’s more, designers who are concerned about Validating such code, again like myself, can easily do so within this all-in-one time saver. Big Props to the masterminds behind the scenes!

‘Sup everybody? I thought I might sit down and script something out here on this rather quiet Sunday afternoon. There hasn’t been much in the way of news for me to report, although I have made head way in a few small areas of my projects. The problem with my audio player has been solved although the reasons behind it’s failure are still a bit grey. Something to do with the Flash plug-in being updated with stricter policies, meaning older versions (like mine) are no longer supported, meaning I have to repurchase the code if I want to have a manageable player on my site, meaning 30 more bucks! I could go the free way and just embed a boring nondetachable player instead, but that’s just not me. I have to have maximum customabilitization! Continue »

Thanks to StudioNashVegas, I stumbled upon this li’l gem of a web developer’s tool. Firefox’s Web Developer installs a toolbar within the browser to allow dissection of websites. Very handy for both amateur and seasoned developers. I gotta go play with it.
