Apple Clock

Upon dismantling my first generation G4 PowerMac, I salvaged a side panel and managed to make a stylish clock out of it. I had seen a pic of someone else doing this a while back and thought I’d like to give it a shot. It took some planning and a bit of hardware (and cursing), but it all worked out in the end. Now I can say that after all of these years of collecting dust in the corner, I’ve finally found a use for my ol’ friend. Cheers, mate!

After 11 years of faithful friendship (7 which were spent in a dusty corner of the apartment), I’m finally saying goodbye to my first generation PowerMac G4. It had long been unsuitable for the fast evolving world of tech, but I always kept it lying around thinking I would one day do something with it. Well, I never did. So I’ve gutted it. And even all naked and such it still looks a bit formidable.

I’d definitely buy this new audio restoration software from iZotope! With this incredibly smart piece of programming, you can easily rid all your old recordings and such of those pesky pops, clicks, hums, background noise and pretty much isolate nearly any other noise you don’t want in the sound file. I could most certainly use this in my own recording, but alas, they want $350 US for this ever so sweet program. I suppose I’ll just stick to my standard workaround techniques, which produce no where near the quality of this thing. Anyway, check out the sample videos! If you’re a musical tech geek like myself, I’m sure you’ll appreciate it. If you’re not, well, it’s still cool to see what can be done to repair all those scratchy songs you have in your library.

SUCKED!!! Just kidding. This book was an all in all good read, however, I think there are 2 hemispheres to consider. The first half of the book was simply brilliant! Mr. Stoker did a fabulous job of capturing the reader within the many suspenseful events that contributed to the overall introduction of the count. Now, I’ve read a wee bit of horrific fiction in my day, such as the Resident Evil series, and had some uneasy feelings while doing so, but this book took on such an eerie feel, that I have no comparison. holy guacamole! apparently we have a family with 5 of 12 siblings tucked away in southern Turkey that actually walks on all fours. scientists are looking at everything from genetic makeup to the history of bipedalism in hopes of finding the reasons why some humans are quadrupeds. if you missed the show, then i recommend you run over to NOVA and read up on the companion site.
