hey gang. hope everyone had a pleasant holiday and all that jazz. i managed to cruise on down to Mobile to visit the family and had a splendid time. somehow the journey didn’t seem quite as mind-numbing this time. usually that long, boring-ass stretch of 65 seems to go on and on and you find yourself readjusting every 10 minutes. but everything went rather smoothly. regardless of the fact that everyone was going a good 15-20 mph over the speed limit. never have i felt more like an elderly on the road.
anyway, as i said earlier, the album has been put aside for the moment simply because i need to take a break from it. i’ve gotten that reoccurring urge to get back to my artwork. i’m thinking… something with the ol’ pencils… like attractions of the city… maybe a series. although, i’d also like to explore a new technique with figures/portraits… not quite so hyper-realistic as my other portraits. i’ve recently been inspired by a favorite artist of mine, Jae Lee, who has illustrated my current read, Bram Stoker’s Dracula. simply fabulous! he does mostly comic books and has come a loooong way in his style in a relatively short time. he doesn’t have an official site, though, but that link will take you to a coupla’ good ones with many examples.
i’m also working on a layout architecture for this blog that will better suit my vision for a more entertaining visit. hopefully, i can settle on something soon and call myself pleased with this thing. *fat chance* as always, any ideas/comments are welcomed.
more as it comes…

the two column span is cool! I haven’t seen that before. But, one day you’ll have to put away your construction set and post!

yeah, apparently the column effect has been around for a li’l while, but rarely used. it’s risky ’cause you can’t really have a determined post height that’s balanced, due to varying entry lengths. that and the comments’ fluidity are the only things that destroy my non-scrolling design. oh well. plus, it’s only supported by mozilla right now.
posting’s gonna have to wait until i finish the design. then i can focus on drumming up stuff to blog about.

Lookin’ really good man…the stories w/ the gallery are a nice addition. Is there any way to leave comments in the gallery itself? The rice image made me laugh, good stuff…looking for more old school additions in the future.

i’m actually working on that right this moment. just got it to work in Misc, now i just have to add it to the other galleries. then tweak it.
thanks for the compliments!
