chalk another one up for net radio. i picked up on these li’l british bastards while at work recently and have taken a strong liking for ‘em. they formed in 2002 and released their 1st album in January ‘06. their latest release came out this past February and shows a steady progression in their talents. but probably one of the coolest things about them is how they became known. it wasn’t through the typical avenues of major record label advertising, but rather by dishing out their songs onto the web and having fans share them. brilliant! as for their style, it’s definitely rooted in modern music, taking influences from bands like the Strokes, the Killers, and maybe even Modest Mouse (if you listen closely). anyway, it’s refreshing to hear a new band with this much potential, and i’ll definietly keep up with them to see how they progress further. not bad for a buncha 21 year olds.
