13 years ago today, we lost one of my most favorite artists: Kurt Cobain. Say what you will about the man and his music, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I’ve seen very few 3-man bands who could deliver the amount of energy that Nirvana produced. With a conscious effort to stay “unpolished” in their sound, with the exception of the over-produced Nevermind album, the band has always been at the forefront of my picks. Following their progression over the years, there was an apparent style change in the works; a more grown-up Nirvana if you will. Kurt’s lyrics were taking a more calming, mature tone and his guitar work was becoming a bit more interesting, for me. Alas, Kurt’s gone, the band is no more and we’re left with a rather limited supply of their great music.
less babble. more music. give it a listen.
